RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – Cope & McPhetres Marine Inc., a 62-year-old marine and water recreation merchandise company that had 13 stores sprinkled throughout California, Nevada and Washington little more than one year ago, is going out of business, the Rancho Cordova Post reported in a recent story.
Officials said the company, which sold and serviced new and used powerboats, started shutting stores in the second half of last year as the economy took its toll on the recreational boating industry.
Cope & McPhetres has posted a “Going Out of Business” notification on its Web site, which says all of its inventory must be liquidated at three California locations.
